                        The Flying Leap

This intimate mastermind is only open to those who have completed The Queen Sweep and The Royal Keep.

What do you want to finish by next spring?

                        Picture
Aren't dreams and goals lovely?  Especially when they stay out there on the horizon, fuzzy and theoretical.

When we commit to an end date, our inner naysayer pipes up.

                        What if I say I will but I don't?
                        What if I get stuck?
What if I lose my oomph?
                        What if it's too hard?

What if you had a group of tough, loving women to hold you accountable?  What if you had help creating a realistic, step-by-step plan...and then had support and coaching as you executed every single step?  What if someone cheered you on, celebrated the tiny invisible successes, and helped you get back on course every time you slipped off?

                        You've cleared out the clutter.
You've laid down a new foundation of habits and structures.

                        Now,
                        it's time to leap.

The deeper the roots, the higher the leap.

                        Picture
The Flying Leap builds on the foundation you built in The Queen Sweep and The Royal Keep.  It's about deepening, mastery, and making things happen.  It's about grounding deep so that you can leap high.  It's about creating structure and setting up gentle, steady rhythms so that you can relax and still get a ton accomplished.  Now that you've put out the immediate fires, it's time to turn your attention to a goal that requires more sustained energy and focus.

That doesn't mean that your life has to be in perfect order; it just means that you've gained some awareness of the habits and patterns that get you stuck, and the tools to climb out of stuckness.  And you'll have plenty of help along the way.

A supportive arc, a daring trajectory.

The Flying Leap is designed to give you the support, structure, and safety you need to do something that scares you a little.  It's a seven-month structured mastermind that creates a supportive arc so that you can trace a big daring trajectory without falling on your face.  We'll work with the natural rhythms of the calendar year to get things done in two sustained bursts, with rest and celebration over the holidays.  You'll have consistent support, mentoring, and the energy of a tight-knit group over seven months so that by next spring you'll have plenty to celebrate.

Two sustained bursts.  Time for rest and renewal.  And a big-ass celebration.

                        Picture
Over the course of seven months, you'll work on two discrete projects.

You'll finish one by early December.

We'll take a break from the projects over the holidays, but still meet on the phone to celebrate, plan, and get support during this hectic time of year that can bring up so much 'stuff.'

Then in January you'll embark on the second project.  It can be the second part of your fall project, or it can be something new.

And we'll all meet in person in Portland, Oregon to celebrate in April!
(This is completely optional, but it's going to be one hell of a party.  I'm buying the champagne!)

For example, in the fall you build your website...and in the spring you launch it.
In the fall you clean out the attic and basement...and in the spring you plan your renovation.

In the fall you write your book proposal...and in the spring you pitch it to agents.
In the fall you design a new program...and in the spring you market it.
In the fall you overhaul your finances...and in the spring you set up new family routines.

The projects can be anything you want.

We'll spend the first few weeks of our time together getting clear on exactly what your project is and laying out the steps for you to take.  At the beginning of each three-month block, you and I will do a one-on-one 30-minute laser session to be sure that your project is focused, achievable, and delicious.

This group is the perfect place to:

                        • Write a business plan
                        • Draft a book proposal
                        • Plan a home renovation
                        • Create a website
                        • Anchor in a new routine: exercise, painting, meditation, writing, cooking, etc
                        • Implement an organizational system like Getting Things Done
                        • Prepare to have a baby, send a child off to school, or another major transition
                        • Design a coaching program
                        • Outline a book
                        • Overhaul your finances and set up new systems and structures
                        • Make a comprehensive plan for dealing with homecare/repair work/maintenance
                        • Create new family routines, rituals, and habits
                        • Start a radical self-care program
                        • Prep for a new career transition: resumes, networking, elevator speech, interview practice, wardrobe, etc
                        • Plan for an upcoming move, wedding, or speaking event
                        • Master a new skill like cooking, a new language, using social media or a new software

It's not the place to try to finish the following:
                        • A 2000-page novel you haven't started writing yet
                        • A business plan, six loan applications, and a website
                        • Open a restaurant for the first time
                        • Design, produce, and market a new line of handbags
                        • Build a house from scratch using a nail file and a redwood forest

Those projects are beyond the scope of this program and its timeframe.  I won’t allow you to set yourself up to fail in my group, no matter HOW sure you are that you can get a superhuman amount of work done in six months.  We'll work together in our 1:1 session to get you clear, focused, and on track.

Sanctuary for big dreams.  Overwhelm banished.

One of the things you’ll grapple with in this group is your tendency to bite off more than you can chew.  Underneath that habit can lurk an unconscious fear that without a big stick and punishing goals, you won’t make any progress at all.  This kind of self-defeating setup is not the same as having big dreams and big goals.  Big dreams and goals are WELCOME in this group—and you’ll leave it with even bigger ones.  Big dreams can be worked toward in small, discrete projects.  Identifying these smaller steps, and breaking down the 'impossible' into a bunch of challenging-but-doable projects, is a crucial life skill that’s essential for successful entrepreneurs, executives, artists, and world-changers.

                        Picture

There's magic in planning.  It saves you money, time, and energy.

Some people know how to do this instinctively.  They understand lists, make complicated flow charts, and are perfectly able to manage complicated projects using spreadsheets, timelines, and a mysterious martial art called 'data crunching.'  This group is not for them.  It's ironic that the people with the great ideas often have no idea how to make them actually happen.  It isn’t taught in any college or business course I’ve ever found.  Advice like ‘just do it’ or ‘just do the work’ or ‘just work harder’ is not only useless, it reinforces our shame and disappointment in ourselves.

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.

Not all of us know instinctively how to manage big projects over the course of several months.  We get bogged down.  We get lost.  We beat ourselves up.  We call ourselves ‘dreamers.’  We conclude that our ideas just aren’t practical.  This, my darlings, is just bullshit.

You can learn to take peaceful action.

                        Picture
Maybe this part doesn’t come naturally to you.  So what???  It doesn't come naturally to me either.  I learned it, and you can too.  I also get a ton of support for myself.  When I first dreamed up The Queen Sweep, it was just this beautiful jumbled idea in my head.  I couldn't see how it would work.  I could taste how delicious it would be, but I didn't know how to give it shape, structure and form.  Finally I had someone sit me down, help me break it into small discrete steps, and support me as I stepped through them one by one.  I still get help, but I've also strengthened my own planning and strategy muscles, and now I tackle bigger and bigger challenges with glee.

This is about claiming your own power.

Committing to something that scares you a little bit, and then doing it with support and mentoring, is like weight training for your soul.  You'll stand straighter.  You'll be calmer and clearer.  You'll have more faith in your vision, and your ability to make it reality.  You can LEARN to do this, just like I have, and it’s one of the most valuable skills you’ll ever give yourself.  Even if you intend to outsource or delegate 99% of the work of your project or dream, there is critical big-picture thinking and strategizing that can only be done by you.  Knowing how to declare dominion over your projects is a superpower that will serve you your whole life.  That’s what this group is for.   You’ll USE the process on this current projects, and you’ll LEARN the process to use on future ones.  You'll come to feel a quiet pride and a deep trust in yourself.  You'll start to have faith in your own ability to make things happen in the real world, because you'll have all this evidence that you can indeed do it.

And we'll do it all from a place of deep soulful connection.

                        Picture
You’ll use everything you learned in The Queen Sweep and The Royal Keep to keep your life humming along as you tackle this new thing.  You’ll listen to your inner guidance system to get valuable feedback and information to help you tweak your course setting and adjust mid-stream.

Most importantly, you’ll shift your thinking, again and again, as you fall into old habits of lethargy, procrastination, distraction, shame, or overwhelm.  With help, support, and accountability, plus some of that intuitive magic that happens when a bunch of beautiful souls gather together, you’ll SHIFT into an empowered, peaceful way of taking action.

                        This group is a commitment.

When I talk about accountability, I'm not kidding.  There will be no hiding; the group will be too small.  You will be required to email me occasional status updates and report to the group on your progress and challenges.  Look, you know me by now.  I'm never going to be cruel.  I'm not going to ask you to grind yourself to a pulp.  But if you consistently find yourself not meeting your commitments, I will push you to re-calibrate your goals and re-set your course.  That's because I want you to feel IN YOUR BONES what it feels like to keep trust with yourself.  If life gets crazy and you fall behind, we can deal with that.  You can decide from an empowered place to shift your end date, steps, or outcomes.  That's very different than just not following through.  This process goes deep, and you may unearth shame, fear, frustration, and even rage.  That's okay!  In fact, I can't think of a better place for it.  You'll be met with compassion, camaraderie, empathy, and gentle but relentless coaching.  Also, plenty of that deep, gurgling gut laughter that bubbles up when you blow past an old obstacle.  You will soar.
